For as long as I can remember, Thanksgiving and Christmas have always brought so much joy.
The holidays always felt a little more magical when I was a kid. Thanksgiving meant waking up to the smell of food cooking all day while family slowly filled the house with laughter and stories. The adults gathered around the kitchen, catching up on life, while the kids ran through the halls playing games and sneaking bites of dessert when no one was looking. It wasn’t just about the food—it was about being surrounded by the people who made everything feel warm, familiar, and special.
Christmas was the season I looked forward to most. The house glowed with colorful lights, holiday music played in the background, and every day felt filled with excitement and anticipation. I remember decorating the tree with ornaments collected over the years, watching holiday movies wrapped in blankets, and trying to fall asleep on Christmas Eve while wondering what morning would bring. Looking back, my favorite memories weren’t the gifts themselves, but the simple moments spent with family that made the holidays feel unforgettable.

There's something about sneaking dessert when the adults weren't looking that every kid just universally understands. And you're so right, it was never really about the gifts. It was the feeling of the whole house being full and warm and alive. Thanks for sharing this one.
